WatchingWords helps people organize their media, edit captions, and manage transcriptions. It was launched in 2018 and is a product of CastingWords - a technology-oriented transcription firm located in Los Alamos, New Mexico.
Rachel Pearson and Nathan McFarland founded CastingWords in November 2005, and the team has since expanded to include Community Manager Mike Stone-Richard, Community Coordinator Jennifer Tucker, many, many freelance transcribers and editors, and one overworked algorithm we like to call the Robot. WatchingWords is a big promotion for the Robot, as it's now doing QC and transcribing, as well as organizing everyone.
The New York Times and The Economist (subscription required) have both mentioned our company in articles.
